Up Date Ride with old friends ruined
Well it's time..
Im taking it to the Lansing H.D.dealer friday morning.
I have been told by several mechanics that a coil should take down both cylinders. We did a battery test last night and it's good, We did a spark test and it was hard to see a deference, thehome. The first 12 miles was on the expresway and it ran great. I drove past my home and put on about 40 more miles. I also drove a little in town. I can't believe that I'm saying this, it really is fixed.I wasimpressed with theservice department and very seldom does that happen to me.He also told me that I should get a stage 1 kit to take full advantage of my Python pipes.
So the story is that my bike runs good and I'm happy.
My next move will be that I'm going to lookinto a stage 1 kit.
Thanks for all of the advice... Gary.
back one looked a bit slower, but we are not sure.
We also cleaned up the plug wire to the coil, then a mechanic friend did a test to the v.o.c.e. and he thinks it's o.k.
Some of the guys I ride with are going up by Stanton mi tomorrow night to the drag races. Some of them are going todrag racether bikes. Sure wish I cold go with them.
I hope the dealer comes up with a fix.and dont hit me to hardfor my $$$$$$.
I will let you know what they say...Thanks for all the advice...Gary.

"Up Date".
My HD dealer called and said that my bike was fixed Friday. They said it was the carbureter. I found that hard to believe because at idle it seemed to affect just one cylinder. I went in to drive it home this morning. I was thinking all the way there that they didn't fix it right. They told me that the carbs had some crud and old varnish. He said that the pilot jet was to small for my Python pipes. He installd a new pilot jet.He said it looked like the carbs have never been cleaned since the bike was new. They also adjusted the primary chain and headlight. The total bill was $42.00. I was happy with the price but I was woundering if it was really fixed.
I got on my bike and started for home, the first 12 miles was on the expressway. It ran great. So I went on past home and put around 40 more miles on it. I can't believe that I'm saying this but it really is fixed. I was impressed with the service department and that don't happen to me to often. He also said that I should get a Stage 1 kit to take full advantage of my Python pipes. My bike is running good and I'm happy... Thanks for all the advice...Gary.
