You can remove the baffels. It will make the exhaust louder but you will also loose power in the low-mid range due to loss of backpressure. I suggest you look at replaceing the existing muffler slip-ons with a set of Cycle Shack slip-ons. You get a much better sound and won't loose any power. I think they are about $120.
Seriously though, I don't believe all of the hype about losing torque. I knocked out the baffles from my stock pipes and if there was any loss it was definately minimal.
I modified the stock baffles on my 2007 1200R,they sound great.you can modify themto get the sound you want.most aftermarket pipes suck! to loud,cost to much and cheaply made.if you need any help or i can modify them for you.

I agree with that, except, your pipes will have the stock look of a regular Sporty. Not the Nighter's cool looking mufflers. I really like the looks of those mufflers, but as far as I know, cycle shack doesn't have that same look available. If they don't I bet they will soon.
I also wanted to keep the stock look, and have cycle shack tapper mufflers, and love them.
