Hesitation/stalls while idling in neutral. Help! (09 Nightster)
I've been reading these forums, watching youtube, and googling possible causes for two months now and found some great advice, but still having issues. The bike starts up fine, but after idling for a minute or two the rpms seem to drop so low that it almost stalls, then kicks back up again. Sometimes it actually stalls out. The first time this happened I was sitting at a stop sign in neurtal and the bike stalled. In addition, during the first half mile or so it will sometimes jerk while in gear, sort of like it lost power then regains it, but I have not noticed the jerking after the bike is warmed up. However, it will still stall or act like it's going to while idling in neutral no matter how warmed up it is.
So far I've replaced spark plugs / plug wires, o2 sensor, crankshaft position sensor, and cleaned the throttle body. Fuel pump seems to be fine, couldn't find any leaks or damage to the hose either.
I had the check engine light come on only once, and the code was P0132. According to google, this means the engine is running rich. I cleared the code though, and it has not came back on, but the issue continues.
I bought this bike (09 Nightster) used last summer, everything is stock. I put a new battery in it a few months ago and put about 300 miles on it since these issues began. I also double checked the battery connections and everything is tight.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
