I've tried to find something on this and can't probably because I'm impatient and don't feel like reading through a million threads. Anyways if there's already a thread point me to it please.
So changed the oil on my 2014 iron 883 rode it a couple trips around the block. No more than five minutes. Been in the garage for a week cuz work sucks go for a long ride today after about an hour at around 4500 rpm it starts stalling out losing power. Engine light pops on for a sec then goes off then shutdown light comes on and the oil pressure light flickers. Pull over check for leaks, plenty of oil in the tank. Only about two miles from home so I start it back up does good for a bout a half mile then completely dies.
I got it home but I'm just not sure what the cause could be. I've heard of airlocking on some sportbikes but couldn't find anything saying sportsters had this issue. This is the first oil change I've done on this bike. Bike has 7200 miles on it (no not the first ever oil change I got it used). Any help is appreciated. The bike has always been fine besides the normal Harley blowby in the filter.
go search sportster sumping
oil is pooling in crank case faster than it can be scavenged/ pumped back to the oil tank. Thus the excess oil in the crank case is slowing the crankshaft.

Not staying at 4500 rpm for the hour. It rode completely fine for an hour. Then when I was riding through town with stop signs and such it would be fine until I hit about 4500 rpm.
