Default 2008 sportster nightster ride height

Hi all thanks in advance.

I recently did some work to the rear end of my Harley. Part of this involved installing a new rear fender to give it the chopped/bobber look. My issue is that the 1/2” clearance I now have from tire to fender causes the tire to hit the fender when I go over bumps in the rd. I believe my shocks are already at their tightest spot. Is there any way to adjust the ride height to give me another 1/2” or so? I was looking at new shocks as well but don’t want to drastically raise the height. Currently I have 11” shocks on from bolt to bolt.

Sure, since you are after a certain stance/ appearance with those lowering blocks.
Modifying the blocks may be the no-cost answer.
Or remove the blocks, but there goes your desired stance.
Have fun with your project.

Removing the lowering blocks and bolting the shocks in the stock position will give you about 1/2"-1" higher ride height. Another option if you want a true bobber look and feel is to go with a pair of 10" rigid shock struts, it will essentially hardtail your bike making it a rougher ride but it will give it a very low profile and bobbed/chopped look and feel. Another good shock option is Burly slammer shocks which are very low profile shocks with not a lot of travel. Either way removal of the lowering blocks will be necessary.
'll leave a link for rigid struts if you want to check them out!

In your first photo it looks as though there is a hole in the fender under the right turn signal, why not use that hole to raise the rear end of the fender up.

At the moment your rear fender looks to my eyes like a case of form over function.

As other members have said, you could remove the lowering blocks and raise the rear end up by 1".
