I actually like the 1991-1994. Still use circuit breakers and cable drive speedo. Plus the 1994 has the upgraded battery tray mounts. After that, I think they went to fuses and electronic speedo. But, those aren't deal breakers for a nice 95-03 bike you might find.
One thing you might want to know is the 04-05 Sporties have a fuel tank that only works on those 2 years as well as the seats are a 2 year fit like the Dyna's. Just keep in mind if looking to upgrade any of that. Both years are carb only.
At least thats what we found out with my sons 04 XL and my 04 FXD.
Hmm, I think you might need to "Fact Check" some of that again. (the dyna 04-05 seat stuff is true though and 04-05 XL having carbs)
EDIT: you should have posted in the WTB section if you needed some of that stuff. I think I have a 4.5 tank and Fender set for that Carbed Sportster ... and the dyna seat for that matter.
