Default Anybody using a velocity stack?

..instead of an A/C. Just looking for those that do or have and if there have been any problems/issues. TIA

Stacks are mostly for show. They will let in far too much debris to be practical. If you like that look, Dourghty, HD, and Forcewinder, and I'm sure there are more, all have products like that with a filter.

Velocity stacks are great..............If you want to do a top end job in about 5k miles.

I agree with both of the above. If you want to do major overhauls every 2,000-5,000 miles then you want a velocity stack. An air filter is a must on these engines (unless youare intofrequent major rebuilds)...

Check out the Wimmer stacks. They make a model that has a filter in it. You get the best of both worlds. They also make rain socks for them that don't hinder the performance any. I might wind up getting one for my 1200 at some point. http://www.wimmermachine.com/_html/1...erSuckerStacks

If you want the best of both worlds, then you can use a velocity stack in the backing plate of an A/C that uses a filter. So you have both the advantages of filtration and the advantages of a velocity stack.
