I saw a video of a guy building a Sportster chopper and he used those.
I’d be weary of using them. Seems like a god way to wreck.

Not sure how the OP would wreck or have detrimental bike handling. He just won't be able to do those 18 foot u-turns. And weren't those humoungus front forks all the rage the back in the 70's?

Yeah, like Peter Fonda once commented about riding a chopper in the movie Easy Rider: 'they were a b____h to handle'

Obviously the bike will handle worse with the tube extensions, how much worse is TBD. Extended forks are not for function, they are for looks. I don't see any good reason they should fail, they are under compression. But for me, I would buy them as a test to see if I liked the look and handling,. If I did I would cough up the money for the proper longer tubes. Good luck.

Excellent advice!!
I think thats exactly what ill do.
The price for 4" or 5" is something like 70 bucks..
Compared to 250.00 bucks for the longer tubes..
And , if its not something I like ..ill go back to factory length.

Have a lifted sporty with 7” extended travel kit and 15” shocks. Initially, I had the forks at the top of the trees and the bike rode okay but it was a tippy toppling ride at low speeds. Dropped her three times before making adjustments, funny a lifted sporty is top heavy.

After testing a bit, ended up with the forks up in the trees 23mm. The Traxxion setup rides well too and the 15” progressive shocks aren’t too shabby for cheaper units. The hillbilly sporty is a blast, and if I’m not hitting any interstates +65MPH it’s my favorite ride.

Sounds like a fun experiment, just be prepared to topple around a bit until you find the sweet spot.
