James were the stuff when the old man still had the company here in the Bay Area, I had an inside. When his kid took over and moved it to Nevada, quality started going downhill and has never recovered, the manufacturing equipment was tired before the move and the kid never spent a dime on them since. I would not trust an engine gasket made by them again. Cometic or another brand MLS gasket, only way to go today.

Cometic EST (Extreme Sealing Technology) gaskets are the best. Their EST gaskets include MLS (multi-Layered Steel), SPS (Spring Steel), and AFM (Aluminum Foamet Material) depending on gasket location, ie MLS for the head gaskets, AFM for the cam and primary covers, SPS for the lower rocker boxes and so on. Cometic's acronyms always confused me until I realized they did not follow a one material fits all philosophy and EST is actually represented by different gasket types.
