Default Do I really need an oil change?

1600 miles over two plus years, ridden regularly twice a month (I have to, it's carbureted) and at least 30+ miles to full operating temps 210*. Always stored here in SoCal in garage where temps never below 50 inside. The oil looks clear and golden to me, but I feel like I should change it based on time alone (and unfounded paranoia??). I'm already planning on changing it this week, but I feel like I'm throwing perfectly good oil away.

Opinions?

John

Synthetic? I'm sure you'll be fine as proffered above.

When a bike is barely ridden, it is almost certain that moisture builds up in the oil over time. An oil change is cheap insurance to keep the motor healthy.

I’d change it especially because it’s carb’d. I go 3k or once a year max on my carb’d bikes

Well, the "new" oil will be the other half of the 5 quart jug I bought two plus years ago. So, is that "new" oil already too old?

That oil in the jug is fine. It’s the gas/ combustion byproduct contaminated stuff in the motor that needs to be changed out.

It's getting changed this week but it would be interesting to see what a Blackstone oil analysis said. But, not $40 worth of interesting
