The reason a US gallon is less that a UK gallon is that there are 16 fluid ounces in a US pint and 20 fluid ounces in a UK pint, times by eight, 128 fluid ounces in a US gallon and 160 fluid ounces in a UK gallon.
The UK uses both imperial and metric measurements, we still buy beer by the pint in our pubs. It can get confusing at times.

Sounds like your bike is running good and your wife is doing well. I wouldnt worry, take it out and give it 6k beatings, double check the math.
13.5mpg in the F250.
Even my thirstiest bike gets over 30mph. Little air cooled 250 with the 28mm carb gets 82mpg.
East of the Mississippi, we get quality 93 octane; last fill was in the $3.20s. Aint no pinging round here.

T, I havent found ethanol free 93. Heard rumors and stories about a place in Frederick never found it.
Did some serious data logging with a late model coyote spinning to 8k. Had 29 degrees of lead and a slight knock when power shifting (normal). Its nice to have access to decent fuel.
Wish the E-free stories were true, then all my bikes, tractors and small engines would be indulging. For now its the old welding tip pilot jet cleaner trick.
