Wow OFG.... I would hate to clean and polish that jewel... but she sure is a beaut! Is that bike owned in your neck of the woods? Definitely a show stopper!
Yeah it's a 'one of a kind', and quite a bit of money has been invested.
It is more of a show bike than a road bike though, and hasn't been ridden all that much. Only has 4,300 miles, and it's a 2003 100th Anniversity model.
Took me a while to get back, so the response is a bit delayed.
1. I agree with you, HighDesertKid, but I actually do ride the heck out of it and that Sundowner just fits my wide-but-bony butt perfect. It's a compromise.
2. Yes, those are Kuryakyn Isogrips, Davemweber. Their diameter is a bit large and the "throttle-boss" a bit small. I changed out the expensive after-market HD grips (which looked pretty!), but these are a whole lot more comfortable, especially on a long run.
3. Of course, the photo doesn't show what's in the engine, still 1200 but not exactly stock.
4. Cost? I don't actually know; played with this for two years so the pain was subdued across time. I know this much: you can add tons of stuff to your bike (and cars) and when you go to sell it, you'll still not get more than Blue Book. Money spent on bling is kinda like booze... once you drink it, it's gone. Good thing I kept the original stuff; if I ever sell it, I'll take it all off, paint it black, and load up eBay with used bling.
Thanks for the complements, guys. It has been (and still is) fun.
