How well does that S100 work? I have seen it at my local shop but kind of shy'daway from it because it was kind of pricy.
I don't know what you got on that case but that doesn't look like "normal"rain stains.
I've got the same stuff on my bike. Never could get it clean and I heard you could actually rub the finish off if you are not careful! Scary stuff! I bought a bottle brush with very light bristles at the grocery store one day and it works perfect!!! Windex the hell out of the casing, and use the bottle brush to scrub clean. Then hose off and dry with terry cloth. Looks brand new. Been doing this for the past year and it still works. Make sure bristles are light though!
hi , new guy to the forums here , but i thought i might have some helpful insight.
I know im comparing apples to oranges, but when i used to have my Honda CAR it had black wrinkle paint on the valve covers , and i used to use a product called "Steam" by "Gumout" (if i recall correctly) on the whole engine, and it worked great for cleaning up my wrinkle paint, as well as everything else. They actually had a 2-pack of the steam and an engine dressing to use afterwards which made everything look brand new ... that kinda wet look if you know what i mean ... rather than being brand new and clean as a whistle but dried out looking. Now, i have no idea why it WOULDNT be fine to use on a HD and it was on my Honda car , BUUUUT ....I'd STILL suggest trying it on a small inexpensive part, rather than something large and expensive. Im pretty certain youll be pretty happy with the results though. I worked in a speed shop for many years and never found anything that gave me as nice of results.
I called my dealer where I bought it and they said bring it up and see if they could get it clean. I have to say now hearing that others have had this same issue to no avail is very disturbing... why would they put out such a product that would do this in the rain...??? even if it was something on the road that mixed with rain, it should stand up better. I am going to get rid of it... trading it in over the winter. Very sad... very sad! Not a good day at all!
Damn Lewd Dude that sucks. I hope you really don't get rid of the bike, it seems like you really loved it. Maybe painting it is a good option. I don't think the chrome would look too good on it but who knows?
