I go for a great ride this afternoon...not far, maybe 30 miles in total. I park the bike in the back yard, about 20 feet from the house. I live in a VERY rural area in South Jersey. Little house on the prarie, rural. I'm used to seeing a wide variety of wild animals in my yard at any given time. I go into the house, put my helmet and goggles on their special place on their special shelf, and go into the kitchen to wash my hands and start to cook dinner. Even though I just walked away from my bike, I can't wait more than a few minutes to run to the window and take a peek at it glistening in the last rays of sunshine for the day. What do I see? About ten to fifteen turkeys surrounding my Harley! Most seemed to be just a little curious, but there was one, a male...obviously the alpha male, who seemed to be more than just a little curious! He was all fluffed up, tail feathers out, scratching the ground and strutting like he was God's gift to all turkeys. I'm pretty sure he was more than a little upset that this big shiny blue and chrome tom turkey was sitting proud as a peacock right smack in the middle of his territory! At first it was kind of funny. He was struttin around the bike, cocky as he could be, and the funniest thing was that he wouldn't let any of the other turkeys anywhere near it! Everytime one even got close, he was on it and chasing it away with a vengence! It was just too funny!... Then he went ahead and did it!...Ruined all the fun!...Turned my smile into a jaw dropping open mouth...He started to peck the h$ll out of my bike!! I could hardly believe it! After a couple seconds of paralizing shock, I threw open the window and yelled out, "Yo dude! What the h$ll are you doin?" Leave that d$mn bike alone!...DON'T MAKE ME COME DOWN THERE!!! Turkeys running, feathers flyin, they all took off into the woods. The wildest thing, was even while running away into the woods, that big ole alpha male tom turkey was chasing and pecking the sh$t out of whichever other turkeys he could catch up to. I went out and checked the pipes for scratches, but all was cool. Turkeys!
Ever had Fried Turkey??? I have a party every Thanksgiving morning. Several of my friends stop by, I fry a Turkey for their thanksgiving dinner, we have a few beers etc etc.
Then, I change the oil, and fry the turkey for my family
Yep the Lieutenant at work fried a turkey at one of our cookouts and that was the tenderest damn bird I have ever eaten. Makes me want some right now just thinking about it.
Could have been latent female pheromones coming from the bike. Check your seat for any residue from recent passengers. May pay to check the front portion also if in doubt.
