took a short trip today (40mi one way) all the way there a constant head wind was blowing , man it got old quick, the onlygood thingwas that it at my back all the way home. doing 70 felt like 95 and when your on a crusier your like a big kite. give me a calm day anytime.
Out here in the Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansasborder areas where I ride for the most part wind speeds of 35 MPH plus are nothing out of the ordinary.
Like anything else you get use to it, but like they said, it's amazing at some of the stuff you can get use to.
I hate riding in heavy winds, but a head wind isn't too bad. It's the cross winds that get me. Especially if I'm on a long ride and have the weenie shield on the bike. That thing catches those cross winds and really moves me around. Not so much if it's a steady wind, but it's the "gusts of wind" that I don't like.
