I've had my relocation kit 68517-94A installed for less than1 year and I noticed a crack on the top of the bracket. When I removed the bracket, I noticed there were cracks onboth the upper and lower sides of the bracket. It appears that the radius of the bracket did not match up with the radius of the triple tree exactly, so there was pressure created.I suppose this caused the mount to crack. I added a flat washed between the triple tree and the bracket to provide some space and relieve thepressure. It seems as though this may stop the crack from progressing andI plan on replacing the flat washer with a star washer tomorrow so the parts don't loosen. Crappy cast parts!!! My question is this - if my mount breaks what alternatives do I have?? I never did care for the Harley kit (they stick out farther than I like) and I have to mount the bracket to the bolt on the lower triple tree- I've been known to use a detachable windshield from time to time and there won't be enough space to use the "tube clamp" style of mount and still fit the windshield. I like the looks of128auto's front signal mod, but was unable to find a suitable rubber boot to cover the mounting stud. (BTW 128auto, I'll take any spare rubber boots you might have lying around the repair shop and try your mod!!) Any suggestions??
Hell I just made two brackets outta stainless steel flat stock, notched em a bit so they fit on the lower triple tree bolts and Bolt em on. You'll need shorter bolts for the signals but it's easy.
Sorry, I do not have any left, I ordered 4 and gave 2 to my friend, try Autozone part # H5659 I got that part number from another HDforum user, he said they fit. My turns are still good, never gonna break.

Thanks Capttawes and 128auto, I might try replacing them some time over the winter. For now it seems as if adding the washer has relieved the stress. I'll keep an eye on the crack and see if it gets worse.
