Lately when I'm out past dark I just leave the high beam on most of the time. Deer hunting (archery) season has started around here and the deer are on the move. I want the most light available and the low beam just doesn't provide enough light, especially to the sides.
As far as having the high beam on, that's where mine is ALL of the time. There's just not enough on low beam to make you visible in the daytime, and the low beam stinks after dark - always has.
I tried the xenon bulb and thought that it helped. But when the hi - beam blew I put the stock back in that I still had, and I actually think the stock is brighter. I too run hi - beams all the time. I don't think it's bright enough to blind oncoming traffic, and I would much rather be able to see a deer standing on the side of the road.
The stock HD bulb is a 55/60 watt bulb and it is an H4. Atleast on my 07'. I changed it out to a white/blue colored bulb 55/100 watt H4. I think they keep the watts low on these bulbs to keep from taxing thebattery andalternator.
Yea, thats what I don't like, the low beam, you can't see to the sides. from what I can tell from all of you, is a brighter bulb may not help much on low beam. I don't see why they don't make the low beam shine to the sides more. Maybe I will re-adjust the headlight down abit and just leave it on bright all the time. At this time I can't spend big $ for a fix...

Gary
Gary,
Don't adjust your headlight down. I was also concerned about "blinding" other driversso I had a buddy take my bike down the road and I did not find it offensive at all when he was coming towards me with the high beam on. If you adjust it down, you'll just limit your own visionat nightwhen it is really not necessary. I haveNEVER even had anyone flash their high beams at me at night.
