I was wondering what do you all think about engine guards and highway pegs on a Sportster.
I am thinking about getting some for my trip 280 miles...
Does it take away from the look of the bike etc.
I have the engine guard with pegs on mine. I'm not crazy about the look of the engine guard. I think the bike looks cleaner without it. My bike happened to come with it, and everytime I think that I want to take it off, I end up leaving it on. I figure ifthe bikegets knocked over in a parking lot or something, I would kick myself for having taken that protection off.
I do enjoy the pegs on a long ride.
I just put the Lindby Bar on my Dyna. It comes with a footrest top and it's great for travel, especially since I have mid-contols. Will be adding pegs to give me 3 places to move around on and chaps/lowers for wind & rain protection. Like the profile of the Lindby because it's not quite so big and round.
Not a big fan of the look of the engine guard... but it is a smart mod. I know kuryakyn makes some slick highway peg set-ups that don't require a guard. But if you want the added protection of the engine guard, then it makes sense to go that route.
I prolly should have them on it but really don't like the look of them...my bike has been lowered so the center of gravity is lower and I feel so comfortable on it....the bike is like a part of me ...one with each other ...knock on wood nothing happens now that I typed this!!
