Just out of Curiosity, if I order the parts(cam cover, sprocket cover, and Primary cover)from an HD dealer, using genuine HD parts, and have an indipendant Motorcycle shop install them, do I void the warrantee? I prefer to do this as I refuse to give my dealer any more money than I absolutely have to. I called the dealership owner about an issue, and he did not even return my call. My wife wants to ride, so I am going to buy her a sporty soon, and I will do so elsewhere and mail him a copy of the receipt. I paid cash in may 2007 for my brand new nightster with the stage 1 done, slip on SE pipes, along with a sundowner seat, smoke lenses and some other stuff, and 4 1/2 months later he can't be bothered????????
Too Bad. My local dealer seems to do whatever it takes to get customers taken care of. I have had a few issues with my '06, and everytime they have taken care of it, on the spot. Even though I have many mods, that I have done myself.
Most of the dealers I 've done business with don't know your name after they get your money. Five dealers in my area, none will generally return your call. Took my 2008 Heritage to the dealer last week for 2 defective light bulbs, guess what? Dealer says light bulbs not covered under warranty. the dealer has to be an idiot, they know I'm brewing on another Heritage for my wife, and still they blow the business over 2 light bulbs. No wonder they aren't selling bikes, and they certainly won't get the business for the new we buy soon.
