Frt Turn Signals Relocation - Finished
Just finished my turn signal relocation and I think it made a huge difference in the apperarance of the bike.
It was a pretty easy install and only took about 35 minutes. The only pita was removing the gas tank to disconnect the factory wiring, but otherwise pretty straight forward.
I used the cheap azz V-Twin Manf. chrome clamps.
Here are the "after photos". I know the resolution and focus kinda sucks, but...camera phone... what you goin' do?

RE: Frt Turn Signals Relocation - Finished
There are 2 ways to do the relocation...
If you look in the DIY thread at the top of our forum there is a method that uses all hardware from the parts store.
I bought chrome clamps for 39mm forks. These can be had for a price range of $25 to $200 depending on the manufaturer and quality.
My install was as follows:
1. Removed the turn signals by backing out the allen head set screw. Lights hanging by wires (gently and supported so you don't damage the wires)
2. Pull the plastic cable holder out of the handlebars.. just pull gently, it will come. Remove the turn signal wire, and replace the holder with the other wires still in it.
3. Remove front tank bolt. Loosen or remove rear tank bolt. I ended up removing mine. I had to cut a couple factory wire ties to release the cables.
4. Dislocate the tank a little back and to the right so you can see where the wires plug in (quick connect style harness)
5. I put masking tape on one light and marked it "R". Both light are connected by a common connector, so if you aren't careful you can mix them up left/right.
6. Remove the factory "stems" from the lights. These thread out and have a recessed allen head in them.
7. Mount each light on a clamp half using the supplied hardware and pretty cover/spacer.
8. Mount clamps on the forks using the other 1/2 and the supplied hardware.
9. Route the cables neat and hidden like. There is extra cable now because they are closser to their connector point then they used to be. I routed the cable for the right signal along side of the front brake hardline and used a couple black wire ties to secure it. I also turned the bars full left and full right to make sure that I had enough slack on the cables so that they would not get tight during turns.
10. Carefully replace the tank and tank bolt(s) making sure not to pinch the extra cable length that you are trying to hide. At this point I replaced the factory cable ties that I cut earlier, as well as added a few more to keep the cables neat and orderly.
The only tip I can offer is make sure that the tilt of the signals matches the tilt of the headlight. This will make them "even and flat" when the bike is standing up. Also, make sure that both clamps have the light facing forward evenly before tightening the clamps.
Pretty easy to do.
