Default front turn signal relocation

Hey guys I just ordered the front turn signal relocation kit from j and p cycles. For any of you guys running this setup (the ones that mount the signals to the bottom of the triple tree) how did you route the wires? Any tips you guys have would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys, there is a small hole at the bottom of the neck in the fork. You can route the turn signal wires out that hole, zip tie it them as they cross at the brake line retainer under the tree, then run them straight out to the light. It is a lot cleaner, and you wont see them coming out the side of the frame.

No need to remove the tank. Loosen the bolts that hold it to the frame, and then slide it back. I was able to get to all of the wiring underneath doing this.

So do i need to drain the tank in order to slide it back? Or is there enough slack in the lines to slide it back without draining? Would you advise doing this with a nearly full tank lol?

You didn't mention what year tour bike is. If it's 2005 or older my understanding is you have to remove the rear fender to release the service loop so you can pull the connections out of the back bone. If it's 2006 or newer then you can get to it through the access cover just above the front rocker box.

To move the tank back you need to dis-connect the pressure feed line at the tank. It's a simple quick coupler, slide the chrome part up and it will come apart. Before you do that you need to pull the fuel pump fuse and start the bike to relieve the pressure. You also want to take the clip out of the frame that holds the vent line, it's on the left side next tp where the wires come out. After that it will move back nice and easy.
