Rocker Box Bolt Covers
I wonder if anyone else has run into this and know the right part: I purchased a set of the Chrome Rocker Box Bolt Covers, part number 43943-01, from the dealer last week. They're listed in the Harley parts book as the ones for use on sportsters, though it only says
"84-later Evolution® XL and Evolution 1340-equipped models." I got them home and the internal clips are way too big.

I would say just get the chrome allen bolts and washers instead, problem solved. I ran into this situation myself a few years back. I dont think HD actually makes a bolt cover that fits the XL.

Go to your local auto store, they sell the same thing in different sizes for half the cost. They'll be with the engine dress up stuff.
HD also sells different sizes, I made the same mistake.

Mud on my face. I stand corrected. The package I got from the store had been opened and someone had tried to fit one of them on something obviously much bigger and spread the fingers out. Of course, that would be the one I tried. Went back with them to the store, and they quickly determined what was wrong. Gave me a replacement set and they fit just dandy. Looks pretty good. Sorry Harley.
