I wear a thick fleece sweatshirt type top that I bought from a hiking shop underneath my leather, and some sweat pants under my jeans. I find the hardest part of my body to keeep warm is the hands.
http://www.wilsonsleather.com/home/index.jsp?cid=I went to wilson leathers. They have atleast 100 different styles.I got mine for $99.It works great. The Harley jackets are really nice, but $400 is too much for me.
I have the FXRG H-D jacket and with the liner that comes with it and a balaclava(sp?) I'm good to ride at 15-20degreesbut I can't seem to keep my hands from freezing at those temperatures. Guess I need to get some heated gloves...
The leather jacket is the impermeable outler layer, obviously.
All you need then are some fleece or wool vests or base layers. They don't need to cost a fortune. Much more effective then the snowmobile suit approach.
I visitedcouple stores and HD dealership this evening to take a look on FXRG and JoeRocket leather jackets.
FXRG - they did not have a tall one, and standard one was too short - harly covering lower part of my belly.
JoeRocket - gay at the store said "do not go with leather, textile one would be as worm and even warmer" - he adviced "ballistic" model with liner and all bells and whistles inside. That one - http://joerocket.com/productJR.cfm?products_id=2568
What do you think? I never look into the idea to get something not from leather.
