That's great. It's just going to be basic stuff but it will cover things that could take you years to learn on your own. I'm sure they'll tell you but keep in mind that they are only teaching you the basics. You have to practice, practice and keep on practicing to become good at what you're doing.

You're in for a neat adventure in life. Just take your time and don't rush it.

I took the class 5 months ago and it was the best thing I've done. I've rode dirtbikes for years, but only had less than 100 miles on the street when I took the class. (Now I have over 1000 street miles) I thought I would be sooo bored, and was the first day, but I did learn way more than I thought I would. Themain thing is that is gives you way more confidence and makes you feel more comfortable on 2 wheels. The big things in the course are turn your head farther than you think you should when you are turning because the bike will follow your head, and work the "friction zone" which they will teach you. With those two things you will be great!

Excellent decision on your part. The lessons you learn in there will help you more than you could imagine. Best $35 I think I've ever spent. Plus, where else can you get a chance to weave in and out of cones on a little Honda Rebel? It was a blast!!

Like whaap said, it's a learning process that never stops. In my 25+ years of riding, I've learned some things the easy way, and I've learned a lot of things the hard way.
There's a lot of good reading material out there as well. Keith Code's "A Twist of the Wrist" has a ton of great riding info, and there are some others worth checking out as well.
My bestbit of advice to ya.....never.....ever....drink and ride.

Congratulations, and listen to the others. Practice, practice, practice! Oh, yeah, and I almost forgot to mention....practice! I'll also recommend the video "Ride Like a Pro" by Jerry "Motorman" Palladino. Some of these are tips you won't get in the MSF course, and others will reinforce what they teach in MSF. Go, relax, pay attention, and do the best you can do.

When I was going through it a short year ago, it was like, "God help me!" Now that I passed it and got my license, it's like, "God help us all!" I still make some boneheaded mistakes, but after 12 thousand miles or so, I've at least gotten a LITTLE better! Ride safe and often...it's addicting.

You're starting off on the right foot to make your riding more enjoyable and, safer. Everyone of us goes away from a class having learned something. Even the most experienced rider. Good luck. Ride safe.

When you complete the course, the instructors may give you feedback like this...."You are now qualified to ride a motorcycle in an empty parking lot."

Turn your head farther than you think you can on curves and turns, and practice emergency braking!
