I like to ride right at 55mph. At that speed the engine just purrrrs. I also love the sound it makes when you go up hill and you advance the throttle to maintain speed. The RPM stays the same but the engine roars.
Yea, being at one with the road has really been awesome; but I find myself singing in my full face. Really, its quite disurbing. At any rate, I won a 1GB iPod Shuffle on eBay... and it should be on the way. I think I'll use the normal iPod buds... in one ear. I think they'll sound good but not be too loud. Of course I love riding... with no music... but on long rides, I'm pumped that now I have a solution.
Also, when it gets colder... I am gonna have my leather lady work up my jacket to have a place for the iPod and buds. Maybe zippers by the neck to store the buds in... shuffle in the arm.
I went the speakers and amp route. It tried it twice, both times I ended up turning it off because it was kinda distracting and found that I just like the sound of the wind in my face and the engine purr. And I am a BIG music fan!
BTW I have a shark system for sale if anyone is interested $50 bucks
The sound of my engine and pipes is the only music I need when I ride.
Same here. I like music and listen all the time in a car, but it has never even crossed my mind that I'd want to listen to music on a bike - guess I just don't get that bored riding. Maybe on a long highway trip, but not on a 100-200 mile ride.
