I don't like the stock gas cap on my 2005 1200C, it looks too bland. Have any of you switched to the six shooter or cross gas caps? It looks like they might add a little detail to the tank trim.[sm=violent053.gif]
Its pretty cool, IMO. Someone told me that sportys can't use the cap that has an LED gas level indicator... I wish we could, I would get one of those...
I like my cover, all the same...
Are you talking about the HD stick on covers? Or a whole new gas cap???
I am talking about the whole new gas cap. The stock cap is not only plain looking but is flush with the tank trim and a pain to unscrew. I will check into the stick ons. Thanks for the input.
i got the six shooter gas cap for my old 83 sporty. had to trim it down on the plastic piece to get it to work on mine but it looks good and it was time to replace my gas cap anyway![sm=smiley20.gif]
I stopped in at my dealer and the 6 shooter and cross do not fit the new sportster tank. They have adhesive tops for the new sportsters in various styles. thanks for your input.
Anyone have one that looks like a knock-off wheel spinner - like the spinners you used to be able to get for Cragar S/S mags?
Not as you describe, bensonjv, but maybe something like this? You certainly wouldn't have any trouble grabbin' hold of it, even with your winter gloves on!!
