Based on published performance tests, it's more Show than Go. But if you like it then do it, a HD isn't a racer anyway.

Yes, its like 15% better than stock. Not very much of a gain. Its a looks type deal at best, you would get more performance from a KN filter and drilling a few holes in your stock backer plate. Look towards a big sucker or a screaming eagle setup if you are looking for a performance increase thats noticeable. If you just like the looks just get one. I dont like that look but thats just an opinion. Many folks do as you see them a good bit. I think the best (looks and performance)are the Forcewinder/SE heavy breather type setups.

Never could understand why someone would add something with moving parts to do the job of something that requires no moving parts.

Had a Ness Big Sucker on my old Sporty, and loved it. The Fatty I've got came with a Hyper charger and I think it does a great job too. If you've got the money and like the looks go for the Hyper charger. If you want to save a few bucks and still get the performance then go for the Ness. Both are better than stock. With the Ness you can hear the air being sucked in when you goose the throttle, and you can get rid of the stock cover.

I don't trust a breather with moving parts either. I will admit it looks cool, especilly with color-matched trap door and butterflies, but the SE breathes better from what I understand.

My Harley came with the stage 1,and I'm more than happy with that.Goes great, sounds great.I've got a Triton thats been tuned from the valve springs throughthe engine to the oil pump, after many years I'm just getting It right with the Triton....my advice....don't over tune,or go off track. ..unless your a master motor mechanic.
