If ya wanna run true dual with minimal power loss, you will want a pipe with a stepped header design combined with some sort of baffel. You won't match the 2 into 1 design for power but you will minimalize low end power loss and have the good looks to boot.Bassani uses this design on their Pro Streets.
Okay, cool. So whichtrue dual exhausts out there minimize power loss with this stepped header design...?? I know I said earlier in this thread that I wasn't too concerned about power loss, but,if I can get atrue dual pipe system that looks good and minimizes power loss then I think that wouldbe ideal. 2-into-1 is definitely out of the question. This is the area where I am the least educated to shed some light on this for me if you can.

I know the bassani does for sure... The Samson pipes I just bought have 1-3/4" pipes all the way back to a 2-1/4" muffle(well it's the length of a mufflerbut hollow with the exception of torque rings). As you can see from this pic I bought them used.

You'd probably be fine with the samsons you were lookin at as long as you got some baffles to go with them. I can't use baffles in mine due to the somewhat sharp bend at the end of the muffler but since yours are straight there would be more options.

Well, those pies I was lookin' at come with removeable baffles...so...would the pipesbe okay as long as the baffles were kept in...or would you change the baffles completely...??

Yeah. I had no intention of taking the baffles out, but, from your previous post it sounded like you were saying the baffles should be changed to something other than what comes with the pipes from the factory.

Sorry never answered this question... those will probably be fine and you shouldn't need to change em unless they are too loud. If that's the case I'd wrap the baffles in steel wool and see if that helps to quiet em down before buying new baffles.

Ah...ok...now that we understand each other...haha. Go here http://www.samsonusa.com/products/sfID1/175/sfID2/268and read up on your Rip Saws. From the website description, it would seem as though they do come with baffles whether you buy the Big Guns 3 or Legend Series...maybe when yours were purchased the baffles were an option at that time. Either way, thanks for your help man...much appreciated.
