It sounds like a carb problem to me also.... I'd get some carb cleaner get it cranked again and start spraying it... see if it changes any of the symptoms....
Personally I had friends try seafoam... they all hated it.... but to each his own I guess....
I'm sure taking the carbs off and doing it the right way would be a much better approach... but spraying with carb cleaner would at least maybe point you in the right direction...

I'll pick up 2 cans on the way there today, should have picked them up yesterday.
Seafoams always worked great for me. cleared up my bike pretty well. saved my crappy car from being scrap metal. its a 93 ford escort wagon, it shuddered and barely ran, now it actually has some power.
