Man I love that song! I learned to fly from a dirt strip(well it was a dirt road) the approach was between a fence post and an oak tree.
You had to be on the deck to get her in because the branchs were like 20' up and if you were not 2' off the dirt she wasnt going in.
there was a pipercub tangled in the limbs for about a year at one time... I soloed in the j3 and took it in and out of there often. I learned inthe cub then upgraded to 150them graded up to a 152 then 172. I was going to fly Jets as a young man and had all I needed, whatever MO I wanted in the USAF, except I have kidney disease. flunked out on the phys.Man that squashed my dreams for a number of years, but Istill managed to slip the surley bounds of earth...
Nice post shumy, brought on another wave of nostalgia....
I may go fly tommorrow after I put a new filter in my truck and pop a few wheels
Rock on

I dont know how you can figure a soloist is better thana whole band, theres no bass or drums and to top it off
Bruce has an outstanding tenor voice, sultry and full toned, he doesnt get near the credit he should Imo

Thats like saying steak is better than steak, potatoes and shrimp. Steak can be outstanding but the rest compliments
it, or makes it better.
with that said clapton sure can rock.

I am a guitar fan and love listening to Clapton.
I have a riding friend who plays a mean guitar for anyone that is interested
here is a couple of his original songs/instrumentals. (Not meaning to hijack the post)
The slower one (Track 1) with the whaling in the background is actually played on a strat using a peice of quartz
crystal to slide up and down the fret board

Hope you guitar lovers like them as much as I do.

Track1

Track2

Oh and he can sing so to keep a little bit on topic - BTW he is a ONE MAN band it is all him.

You are getting old when you start remembering when it was "the first time around." I remember BEFORE it was "the first time around."

You misunderstood me, then. I'll rephrase... I like the stuff Clapton put out after "going solo" more than Cream. Of course, he still performed with a band and there were still other musicians in the studio. Kinda thought anyone talking music would understand what I meant, but... eh, whatever.

You have to go a long way to find an album, especially other works from Clapton or Cream, better than Slowhand.
