Ive been to 3 different dealers and all 3 have different "suggested" retail prices on the Nightster that I'm looking at, How could that be? Isn't the suggested retail price set be the factory? Isn't that why it is called Suggested? Do Dealers negotiate on prices? I have only bought one new bike before 18 years ago and I left there feeling *** raped by the Yamaha dealer.
Try different dealers. I went to Sheboygan WI and got mine brand new 500$ under the websites sugested retail. Local Milwaukee dealers had it for the regular retail prices.

"Suggested" price is made up by the individual dealer because it is only a suggested price. A dealerbases their price what they paid the MoCo, and then add on their cut. You can always "suggest" they take their price & shove it, and you'll buy your scoot at the other place. Yes,some H-D dealers willnegotiate, just like car dealers.
Ask to see the '08 brochure.... Or better yet.... Ask them to give you one.... All the MSRP's for each model are listed in the back... If a dealer won't show you the book... Be wary
i'm sure you can find a better deal than i did, but i've found the dealer usually tacks on about$1000 worth of fees, more if you are registering in the state you bought it. i checked about every dealer in 6 states and ended up driving 400 miles to tennessee to get mine. the dealer there was the only one that would work with me on the price. i got him to throw in the fwd controls free. i came out about $300 dollars better(inclding gas),than buying from a more local dealer. the most i saw one for was $12,600 and that guy wouldn't work with me at all. i bought my bike at the end of october though. email each dealer through there website and ask what the out the door price would be on the bike, then call you tax collecter to find out what the tag and taxes are gonna cost you. good luck
