Default Engine probem

Hello,

This is my first post on any forum ever, so my apologies if I make a mistake or break a rule. I don't usually post but I have run into bit of a problem and need advice, just bought my bike a few months ago, September 22, 07. It is a 2007 1200C Sportster. The engine will rev up without me touching the throttle and then go back down into an idle state, then it will repeat the action. The check engine also comes on after about three seconds of running. When I limped home on it the engine would not run smooth, it acted like it wasn't getting enough fuel. I am now waiting for AAA to come and haul it to the dealer and find out the bad news. Its still under warranty so there should be no cost involved, I just wondered if anyone else had this experience.

Sounds like a vacuum leak, might want to check the FI boot that comes in off the air cleaner and make sure it is connected and there is no cracks in it.

OK, the word of the day is coil. apparently mine decided to only work half the time, one of my plugs wasn't firing because of it. The dealer is going to replace it , bbbbuuuttttt the parts won't be in till the middle of next week, pity me please. So here I sit on a three day weekend with no bike, I feel pain.

So here I sit on a three day weekend with no bike, I feel pain.
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your pain
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb

O.K.
Just a little pin *****
There'll be no more aaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
And I have become
Comfortably numb.

Sounds like a vacum leak on the intake or efi issues.

Don't worry, we won't send the spelling & grammar gestapo after you ... yet. [8D]
Gotta love the warranty covering the financial cost. You might want to ask the stealership if they have a "loaner". Some will let you take a rental (free) if they have a spare one, othertimes it might be a leftover model.

ps: The stealership did not have a coil on the shelf?!?
