Default buffer magic

ok got a hold of a buddies high speed buffer and started follin around with the upper fork turn signal mounts I made. No need to send out for chrome - less than 10 min with som white finnishing rosin - sucker sure dose get hot though. Take a look - in the second, you can actuqally see the mirror reflection of the unbuffed one in the buffed one.

I've done a bit of aluminum polishing on past "toys" and was always bothered by trying to keep that shiny finish on them. Maybe it's the polluted air around here, but over the years I went through severeal jars of Mothers. Eastwood has a product called "Nyalic, Clear Coat Barrier" that worked really well. Good to 600F and never yellowed. Comes in a 12 oz spray can. Spray it on heavy, let it drip off and dry, and it was great. You might want to look into that.

my buddy handed me a lump of white rouge - he said in all the years he's used it (well over 40) - all he ever did was polish with the stuff then clean it with the rest of the bike or whatever it was on - something in the rouge that it just maintains it's luster - we'll see - thanks for the heads up.

Lookin' sharp ! I used simmichrome (not sure I spelled it right) on a stainless steel revolver. It now looks like nickel plate and very little maintenance to keep it that way. Do not know how it would work on your project. Good luck, and again, looking very nice.
