Default Advice on lowering 883 LOW

(Sorry I posted this in another place as well to get more info)

My biggest question is this...

Can my already low... 883LOW be lowered any lower???? SAFELY without compromising the bike?
I looked in HD catalogs and every lowering kit I see is for 883C or 883....... not 883L.

I am starting to think the 883LOW ALREADY has it as low as it can go.. that is why it is called the 883L??? Am I correct? If so..

I will need to sell this baby and get something I can lower because my feet WILL NOT sit flat on the ground.. even with my NEW SEAT.. shaved! I don't feel like I can handle this bike without my feet flat on the ground..

I am only 5ft tall and 115 lbs.

HELP!!!!! Lisa

You CAN lower the 883L...safely. Use lowering blocks and/or short shocks (11") as stated before. You can find them on J&P, Ebay, lickscycles.com, Jireh cycles' page, and many other places. You can also lower the front end.

They'll fit...the swingarm and frame are the same on every sportster from your year...regardless of specific model. And if you want to go even lower than 11's, you can get 10" short-shocks off Licks. But with the lowering blocks it will take them down anywhere from .5" to 2" lower, depending on which kit you decide on. 883L is just a designation for a sportster with specific factory mods...just like the C, R, and N models. I'd go with a 1" or 1.5" set of lowering blocks and a front end kit if you're looking for "low as you can go" stance without welding on a hardtail or using struts....otherwise your fender might rub on the tire from time to time using a 2" kit.

Golfgurl,

How do you do with holding the bike up? Sporties are top heavy as hell, if it gets over on you one way you might have some serious trouble. Not trying to deter you or anything, just be very careful. 600 pounds on a 115 pound lady would not be fun.
