Hey guys and gals, does anyone know if the stock 883 low handlebars will fit a 1200C without having to change the cables. If anyone has this or has seen this please let me know.
Not getting many responses, so let me rephrase the question. Does anyone know what handlebars i can replace my stock 07 1200 xl bars without changing any cables/wiring ?
mini apes don't need any more cable? that would be great, since i want that to be my next addition. is that right?
Mini-apes need all new cables and wiring extended (I have em on mine mounted on 3" straight risers).
As for the original quesiton, not for sure but the 883low bars I think have about a 6" rise and more pullback over std. barsthough not quite like buckhorns so there is a chance they may work with stock cablesbut quite possibly you'll need at least a new brake line.
Capttawes is correct about the Low bars. The measurements for the Low bars are 28" wide,6" rise and 10" pullback. I have them on my 2005 1200C. Had to install a longer brake cable butthe stock clutch cable and throttle/idle cables were long enough. However, the throttle/idle cables did have to be rerouted outside of the triple tree instead of through it. The wiring for the bars was long enough but is a little tighter than I would like. I plan to loosen the tank and try to pull a little more slack.
