Actually only cosmetic.... but now you just brought up an interesting theory.... because the one thing that kinda bothers me about sporties is that they run high on the RPM's even though I'm not going all that fast....
I didn't know; nor think that this could possible help with keeping down the RPM's....
I went from a 29 to a 30 on my 06 1200R. It dropped my rpm by about 250. Most guys go the other way to have more pick up. I have plenty of power and pull the extra tooth fine. International bikes come with a 30t. For me, dropping 250 rpms was where I wanted to be at my normal high-way speed. Got mine from H.D. steel, not aluminum, $62. It's up to you, 27,28,29 or 30t.
thats funny, i would have thought that it would have been the other way.... the lower the number teeth,( matching the front sprocket ) would lower the rpm's.....

I have a 26t from Baker. This is describing the front final drive sprocket (pulley).
The rear used to be 61t. I think it is more for the 2004 and newer models.
Your choices are limited. Mostly because folks are happy with chrome covers.
Get a tachometer before you mess with the rpm of the bike much. You don't want to be running under 2500 rpm. You may think the sound and feel is good but you will ruin the engine.
