dont do it. i have a gsxr600 along with my nightster, and alot of friends with HDs. im 1/4 mile down the road before they get their feet off the ground, i didnt have my harley when i did things like this, all they had to do (when they caught up) was say "big deal, i have a harley" and they won.........we dont buy harleys to race jap bikes, we buy them because they are the baddest things on the planet. plus this kid sounds like an idiot anyway. if you bring yourself down to an idiots level, they will win from experience
Attempt at your own risk, you will probably. Even the pre 1989 sport bikes a re crazy fast. I had a 600 Hurricane many years ago that I wish I never sold. That bike was just plain fast.
retail sale HD's made for the street aren't meant for 1/4 mile racing.
Never have been.
The ninja is meant for gaining speed in a short burst.

He will likely out run you in any nominal distance.
Hd's are made for class, nostalgia, and pulling power for the longer
run in comfort.

Oooohhhhh so true.......HHHMMMM, I seem to remember myself blowing 2 sportbikes away last year. Either I'm one he11 of a rider & they sucked, or my scoot & Iwere just too cool for themto hang out with us. Atleast, they gave me a thumbs up when they caught up & I slowed down to around 80mph. [8D]
Coming from an FZ6 (down tuned R6), I can easily say the sporty holds no chance. Evenhe rode the bike gently, or not push it in the upper RPMs that thing will still whoop around the sporty. Don't embarrass yourself.
