Default Remounting/Relocating Speedo Help!

Hey all. I am adding 12.5 inch apes to my 2005 1200C and am going to ditch the stock riser in the process because I like the look of the bars being almost on the forks. Now, in doing this I realize I need to remount my speedo and indicator light panel (which I am okay with ditching if need be, I would like to retain it, but if it must go it must), to complicate things I am not fond of mounting it infront of the bars like on the 1200R or other sporty’s. I would like to have a clean looking mount behind the bars (towards the rider) and retain the stock speedo if possible (I would be willing to do an aftermarket speedo if it would be easier or cleaner, just not a Dakota digital as I don’t want to spend 400 bucks on a speedo!) If anyone has done any remounting of the speedo and has pics, ideas, part numbers etc. please share! Any info can help me! Thanks! Jeff

Default RE: Remounting/Relocating Speedo Help!

you are asking for tall task,The custom is what it is because of that configuration of the speedo, which by the way is designed to barely clear the tank. It may be the best thing as it is manufactured just for that purpose. With that said, I think you need to browse the catalogs, J&P is my favorite, but maybe a Drag Book would have lots of options. either way, you will need to have some instinct for how it is going to fit. Good luck
