Congrat's on the bike... I know all about the wait, 'cause I did the same thing last year. But, I couldn't take delivery because there was too much damn snow on the roads!
Congrats! This is going to be the LOOONNNGGESST week of your life. I hope the weather in your area sucks this weekend, if it's nice out you'll probably be institutionalized by Monday.
Congrats, but I also don't know how you could wait.
Since I had not rode a bike in over 25 years, I was going to have them deliever my bike so I could get accustomed to riding again just around the neighborhood. It was on a Saturday, and by the time the second round of paperwork was completed, getting late in the day. The salesman told me they wouldn't be able to get the bike to my house that afternoon, and they were closed on Sunday.
There was NO WAY I was going to wait until Monday to have my bike at home. The dealership is about 25 miles away all the way on the other side of town. I quickly thought of a route I could take to avoid the interstates, and told them I was going to ride my bike home....FILL ER UP!!!
Probably not the smartest decision I made that day, but it all worked out well.By Monday afternoon, my bike had well over 100 miles.
It's definitly going to be a long week, best part is no matter how much you are looking forward to your first ride it will still suprise you how great it is.
Have fun & keep it safe.
