May I ask why you want to change? I was thinking of the Cycle Shacks for MY Nightster. My biggest problem is that I don't want to have to spend the money to have all kinds of other work / modification done. (I would like to just be able to put on some slip-ons and go - if that is possible ?)

Sure, no problem, Perch. They were on the bike when I bought it and I replaced them with a D&D Fat Cat 2-1. I just wanted to get some stockers in case Johnny Law has a problem with dB level of the D&D.
I had cycle shacks on my custom, loved them, and moved to troublemakers after that. Shouldnt need to be any other mods done with slip-ons Perch. They are definitely just plug and play, so to speak.
