How did you remove those fork gaitors? Just cut them off or??
Very sharp bike, btw
i actually just removed the wheel and caliper, the just slid the front forks down and slid the gaiters off. i wanted to keep them intact to replace if i wanted to. it was very easy
thanks to all about the comments. i really like how the bike came together. my next mods will be, black outer primary cover and black crankcase cover, and black floating rotors, (if I keep the bike. i am seriously considering moving to a night train)
Did you have the Dirby and timer covers powder coated too. If not could you tell me where you got them?
actually the timer cove is a screamin' eagle one, about $5 from HD. The inspection and derby covers are from the '07 roadsters. I know they are stock on the 883 roadster, not sure about the 1200. I think they are because the primary and crankcase covers are all black. visit the dealer, they will let you know. I can't find the part numbers at this time.
I actually just looked at the website. the 883 roadster is the only one that has the black inspection and derby covers
