CV slide modifications....
You don't need any of those after market wonder kits, none of them do anything except part you from your money.
I have used Thunderslids andYost and they are a joke, I can add to that if you have any engine work done by a big shop like Zippers or Head Quarters the first thing they want to know is do you have one of thosewonder kits in the carb and if you do get it back out.
All you need is a couple of jets and a needle and you can polish up the slid just like you said.
Save your money you are on the right track!!!
I honestly think that just shaving the slide and clearing the imperfections out of the guides is cheaper and more effective than spending all that money on the Thunderslide or an all-out jet kit. I'm getting my jets for a VERY reasonable price, so I'm hardly spending anything at all going this route.
I've always done my own carbs, TB's, manifolds, and heads on cars...so tweakin this teeny little thing shouldn't be nothin'.
I'm not saying these kits are anything bad, but if I can do the work myself and get similar or the same results, I think it's worth the sweat and a couple busted knucles to get them.
