Default Needed Information

I have moved the stock taillight and now I have a hole where it use to be in the rear fender..... Is there something I can buy or do to cover the hole other than leave a sticker over it. I didn't really want to take the fender off and fill it in. Who would have thought about the hole in the fender all I was thinking is I am really going to like the looks of this brake light ..... The bike is dirty in this pic but you get the idea

Fill it in with bondo and repaint the area. It would be better to remove the fender and patch the hole with metal, but a good bondo job will work for a while. You might even consider some "glass" as it won't hold water as bad.

My next project will be a side mount license bracket/tail light. But I plan on chopping the rear fender down similar to the Nightster, and running the turn signals as running/brake lights.
Chopping the fender will do away with the holes quite nice!

Just about all hardware stores have various sizes of chrome snap in buttons. You should be able to find one the correct size to plug the hole.

Ive wondered about using a clean looking flat rubber plug or bung for those jobs, should like it was made that way with no hassel and its reversable if you want to put the taillight or anything else in there

harley gives a plastic plug with the seat nut inserts, which lend thereselves to many decorative options mounted on a 1/4" stud.

You're going to need to cut out the mold from where the light used to mount, then weld in some sheet metal and use filler to smooth it out. Then you have to repaint the area. There's no easier way, the tail light is molded into that hole. You could always go the easy route and bob the fender.
