Default 2up Seat Alternative

Is there an alternative to using the Pillion pad and harley one piece setup for 2up seating? I'm looking for just a rear seat i could screw in or something. Or am I just dreaming? She feels unsafe just thinking about using the suction cup Pillion pad. Thoughts?

There are countless manufacturers of two seater saddles. Corbin, Mustang, Saddleman, HD seem to be popular. Some of those saddles are downright cheap - I think the HD Sundowner "touring" saddle is $250. If you're not picky, I'm fairly certain you could pick up a dirt cheap two seater on eBay.

I'm assuming you have a solo saddle and want a P-pad that can be removed easily. For that, you need to find a P-pad designed to attach to that saddle and then screw into the hole on the back of the fender. The suction cup attached P-pads usually have a big disclaimer on them that says they're not intended or designed for passenger use....

Yeah man for a good 2up seat I rode a buddies 98 sportster with the Corbin Dual-Touring saddle and it felt like I was riding a Softail Deluxe. They have different seats for different year groups. Here's the link to their Sportster seat line-up. http://www.corbin.com/harley/xl/ Oh and some are heated too.

I can't wait to get a Corbin for my 2006. And you can always keep your solo and just swap them out whenever you want. I'm told it's really simple to swap out the seats. Hope it helps.

I can tell you first hand the suction cup "P" pads are crap.If you want something permanent you can get an old school Bates style "P" pad on Ebay pretty cheap but they will require you to drill 4 holes in your fender.IMO it would look great on a bobber but my wife rides her own bike so I can't commit to drilling my fender.

Ditto that. At least get a pillion pad that screws at the attachment point of the fender and seat. To feel more secure consider a backrest as well. "She" is valuable and will appreciate it. You can pick up a nice backrest setup on eBay as well. Also, the narrow pillion pads look good, but are not very comfortable after a few hours.

I've been trying to see if she'd just like her own bike. But I can't really afford that at the moment, and neither could she. But I have been thinking about the 4 hole idea. Would suck if I did it and didn't like it. Anyone have any pics of that style of seat? Thanks for the info guys!
