Just upgrade to Big City baffles. I have 2" drags on my bike and it's fast as **** with them baffles in there.

I have 1 3/4 inch drag pipes. The Big City Thunder baffles made a big difference. I slid mine in 16" to the screw hole I drilled.

If you can afford it a full stage 1 is the best way to go. I put a K&N filter in and drilled about 20 3/8" holes in the back of my filter mount around the outside. Jet it accordingly and you have a good balanced noticable mod.

what would be the difference between going with 2" pipes instead of 1 3/4" pipes?

Increased volume (flow, not sound), slower exit speed, and louder. Not necessarily all great things, in fact, you'll probably find it easier to tune with the 1 3/4" that the 2's.
