I'm new to HD forums and to HD period... I'm currently in Iraq and have been here since last september! On the plane ride over I had a vision that was inspired by my soon to be father-in-law getting a HD Road King last summer...and that vision was to own a bike. SinceI got here I've been putting all the extra money that Uncle Sam is paying me for dodging bullets and bombs (which I've had my fair share of experiencing! [:@]) away and just yesterday walked into the AAFES HD dealer and said...I WANT A NIGHTSTER!! One swipe of the card later I'm an HD owner!
I can get myself around the garage just fine, but my past projects have been both cars (went down both routes; '76 chevelle when I was in highschool and most recently a '98 honda civic). I've driven all kind of different bikes growing up, but never a HD. I'm a conservative driver and put longhours in the garageanyhow, so I'm confident that I'll be a quick learner both on the road and in the garage! After reading through the forum and seeing such beautiful Niteys, I'm pretty excited to get back and get started! I get back stateside next month and pick up my bike on June 1st. I've already contacted my dealer back in NC about a number of mod ideas, and he suggested (and I totally agree with him since I'm a rook!)to drive it around stock for a little bit to get a feel for the 1200cc of badnessbefore I do any mods, but I've already got somewhat of the direction I'm going to go with it!
Looking forward to learning a little bit from you veterans on here and sharing my project with you all!
[sm=patriot.gif]Thanks for protecting us! Be safe and CONGRATS on the Nightster.. I LOVE THAT BIKE! First thing I'd recommend is.. PUT SOME LOUD PIPES ON THAT BAD BOY!
Be careful and take the MSF class when you get back. Since you are military I am sure it is a requirement as it is for me as well. While it might be hard, finish that deployment up strong and keep your mind on your job bro. I'm over here in the OEF theatre myself.
Black...Yea, I'm in line for the course first weekend in June. A buddy of mine got a Night Train while were over here too and we're gonna take the course together (buddy system must be ingrained in my head!). He's a little more experienced than I am, but it outta be fun
Hey....congrats and THANKS for your service to our GREAT country....this is why we all can say and do whatever the hell we want when we want to.......I think we all kinda forget this, especially if we kinda lean to the LEEEFT ( OSAMA BAROCA, or whatever the hell his radical name is).......later..........and thanks again..................BINNY...........
