About how many miles can I expect to get out of the Dunlops that came on my 07 Sporty. What are you opinions on Metzler tires? I don't abuse the tires so take that into consideration!!
I got about 5k off the front, 9k off the back on two sets of Dunlops. Heard a lot of good about the Metzlers, might finally switch over next tire change.
I was very satisfied with the Dunlop tires. I got 15,000 miles from them, and would have replaced with the same tire, except due to the Union Strike, the rear tire I needed wasn't available. So, I switched to the Metzler.
It's an awesome tire!!! It handles so well and rides so much better, that I was suspect about how long it would last. No worries there. I got over 15,000 miles on the rear tire, and have over 17,000 miles on the front tire. The front tire looks like it might have another 10,000 miles on it........we'll see. Much better in the turns and wet/snowy roads than the Dunlop. Not quite as good stopping, but very close. In my opinion, the Dunlop is not in the same league as the Metz.
I'll NEVER go back to Dunlop.....Good job with the strike there Labor Union, ya lost a customer for life.
What Metzeler tire is everyone using? I am ikn the process of buying new tires for my sporty. I have been looking at the Dunlop 401 and 402 tires. But if the Metzeler tires are better in both handleing and duration, then I will look into them.
I replaced both front and rear at 15K. The front were bad very little tread left, the rear was borderline. I did not how many miles were on them prior to my buying it so I got more than 15K out of them. Stock Harley Dunlaps.
