Default replacement Handlebars

I have an '06 1200 Custom, and as 6'3" tall I am leaning a little to much forward when riding.
This affects the arthitis in my shoulders enough where after riding for a bit - the arms and upper back are killing me.
I really need to ride in a more upright position. The only way I see this is extending the handlebars forward and up towards me.

Does anyone know the dimentions of the stock handlebar, so I can compare with a replacement ?

I looked up this from the HD site - SportsterĀ® Pull Back Handlebar (56021-04B)
How much better would this be than the stock handlbar ?

I downloaded the handlebar measurments grid from HD, and want to compare with the bars in the grid: http://*******.com/5bx8nh

Here are the list of handlebars from HD: http://*******.com/575h6o

Can you give me recommendations as to which one may be the best choice.
I think moving the handlebars about 3-4 inches towards me would be the best fit.

Thanks for any help.

Wider bars would probably help some as well.

I feel your pain. I have an 05 Roadster. The bars pitch me too far forward. I'm 5'10". I'm going to first loosen the clamp and rotate them up a little and see what that does.

Here is a good site for handlebar measurements. You can compare what you have to what you want, then buy their stuff or go to a Harley site and get comparable handlebars.

You could do what I did...

DWG on stock pull back risers... with the back rest install it's like riding in a recliner.... well not quite as soft....[8D]

There are always apes or mini-apes. My 13 inch bars have me leaning back another couple of inches from stock.

Talk to the parts department about bars from a 1200 Low the are a six inch rise and come back to a perfect riding position. I have a 05 1200C and put 2008 1200Low bars with my stock riser and it is very comfortable.

my nephew has an 883 Low. I rode it before and loved the bars. I'll see what the dealer says about it.

Started with stk. XL883 bars, and went to low type after 10k miles.WAY better.I'm right handed,so i figure my left arm/shoulder is weaker. That's where i used to get pain, left shoulder, still get a little, but so much less it's not worth mentioning.

I have a '05 1200C and had the same problem. I have tried both the '07 883/1200L bars and the '06 Dyna Low bars.
The 883/1200 L bars are 6" rise, 10" pullback and 28" wide.
The Dyna Low bars are 5" rise, 9" pullback and 31" wide.
I have the 883/1200L bars on now because of the extra 1" pullback but I actually like the Dyna Low bars better because they place your wrists in a more natural position. The narrower bars require that you bend your wrists outward more. At 6'3" you should be fine with the Dyna Low bars.
