I know there are many post on wobble but here you go. FYI Dropped bike off at the dealer yesterday (2008 XL883C 209 miles) with a low speed wobble 40 to 50 mph. Dealer called this moring and said the found the following: Loose spokes, steering bearing adjustment, low air pressure, (this one is BS as I put the psi right on 30 and used three different guages to check it with.) tire not balanced remember all of this is the way bike came from MCO. Just felt like sharing with everyone.
Sounds like the dealer skimped on their PDI dutys. Always a good idea to put a wrench on every bolt as soon as you get it home. As forthe tire air pressure, I used to run 40psi in the rear and 38psi in the front of my sportster.

Actually, it's the fault of that particular dealership....remember when you paid "Prep" fee. The bikes do not show up completely assembled. The tech's ateach dealership have some parts to put on upon the bikes arrival at the store. Not sure what all the parts are though.
funny you say that usually the front tire comes assembled on the rim but not on bike then they gotta put the bars on it and all that good stuff but the back tire is already mounted and everything makes it easier for shippin i guess or its another way for the manufaturer to save money and the dealership to make money with the prep fees lol damn hidden bas***ds
They better not have charged you for the repairs! They would see a very bad side of me if I were you. 209 miles and you have a wabble? For real? That's rediculous. I am nearing 500 with not a loose part yet. I do check becuase I have heard stories like yours.
I dunno. That sounds like you could have gotten into some real trouble.
Imagine, if you hit a decent sized pot hole? Mighta thrown you around like a rag doll.
Picked up the bike and all is well, no more wobble, no charge. However they put 41 psi in the front tire is that not a little much?MOM call for 30 front and 36 rear riding solo, which is what I do.
I'd lower that tire pressure. That's way to high for a Dunlop. Go with 30#. The pressure rating on the sidewall is a MAX rating and does not factor in the bike & riders weight.
