lol.. no i understand. just didnt want ya to over look a really fun bike because of dealer problems. there are good/bad ones. if it means anything my dealer didnt ask me any money questions until after we started talking about taking one home.

i've owned about a half dozen crotch rockets... try demo'ing those before buying.. lol.

I went in last summer and pointed at 3 bikes that I wanted to test drive (street bob, v-rod, and lowrider)....and with no questions asked, he lined them up out front of the dealer and I took a 10 mile ride on each.

I didn't have to pay a dime...just sign the waiver, like usual.

hehe yeah no doubt.

i was just pretty ticked that i wasted my time going over there...

i have a ninja 250 atm. awesome bike btw. time for someting bigger though.

i like the nighty, but i'd like to know how it rides in comparison before i commit.

i'm either going to buy a nightster, or a ducati monster 696. pretty tough choice imo.

When I purchased my Ninja 6R in Hawaii, they would not let me crank it till I filled out a credit application and was approved. All I could do was sit on it.

The new 696 looks terrific. You have good taste, as both bikes are just fun to ride. My brother in law has a Monster 695. It feels totally different than my Sporty. It is much lighter and more flickable, but the riding position is more aggressive. I wouldn't think of trading my Sporty for it, to be honest.

I went to Harley davidson of Charlotte on 'demo day'. Rode a nightster and a crossbones, they couldn't have been any nicer (Yeah harley!). On demo days you can ride whatever you want. I have been turned down at car dealerships because I rode in crappy truck, then at some places they throw you the keys, others they photostat your licence, etc. Just depends on the person and the place. In most dealerships (car and motorcycle) I feel like I don't belong because I buy something a few years old at half price or less, rarely from them. I have bought cars twice from dealerships when they came down to my price, after walking away and calling them back later. I bought a new motorcycle after many, manytrips. I think he came down in price in sheer exasperation. I think of most salesmen as thinly disguised thieves and their actions show I am not far off the mark. After I buy it I drive it forever. (Example: bought 1988 volvo 240 for $4500 with 86,000 miles (new price $23,000), it now has 287,000 miles. I will be sad when it dies for it has been the best car) Keep trying, the responses you get will be as varied as the people you meet and the dealership you go to.
